juggling plates

I’m getting to the point where I’m going to have to start making some priority choices regarding what to do with my time.

I have lots of ideas and responsibilities and then a bunch of other peripheral stuff clinging for life to the edges of my reality. I think it’s time to drag in some of those things and kick off the rest.

I want to seriously look at this book idea I have and to do so I need to actually play with it a bit by doing some writing for it. I have this Emergent magazine idea that I really want to do and make reality (let me know if you’re interested in being involved with either of these things). I’d like to give more attention and focus to some of my writing for articles and essays and I still have my paycheck work and everything else so I need to pare down.

I was telling David last night that I love Revolution and our people and what we’re doing is so important but networking, meeting with people from all over and connecting virtually with others, researching and writing probably better represent my passions - - but I’m still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up so I’m not prepared to make that a definitive statement yet.

I would be interested in helping out with either/both.

And oh… I understand the juggling thing. I am starting to feel that I am doing too much too…

LOL … welcome to life as a grown-up with kids!!

I know what you mean. My life song seems to be “Lady With The Spinning Head” by U2.

I have no good words for you, just oodles of empathy. When you figure out how to keep the plates spinning, though, I’d love some advice.

LOL, I just went through this. Unfortunately I seem to have just traded one activity for another! But I think the new activities are much more nourishing to our whole family then the old and I still have some more cutbacks to make over the next few months I think.
One idea might be to start with the magazine, while writing bits of your book idea. The bits could make a great article for the mag and then be expounded later in a book.
If it makes you feel any better I think most of us 30 somethings ( I don’t think you are thirty yet but close enough, lol) are still trying to work out (hugs)
BTW, have I told you lately how much you make me miss CO? We just got an email from a friend attending CSU and he said that Ft Collins has been the friendliest town he’s every lived in. sigh.
    Christmas can’t come soon enough!

    thanks everyone.

Anita - no, not QUIIIITE 30 yet hehe.

you should miss CO, it’s a really great place to live. I’ve lived everywhere and really feel like this is home for me. We’ll be leaving soon for England and then that will be home (ah the life of a missionary pioneer hehe) but I think this will always be home HOME.

I understand exactly where you are at. But that said, I would be interested in helping with either project. :)

Drop me a line when you get your plans together. I may be able to help.

I do have to admit that my dream is to be paid to write all day. I’m about 1/6 of the way there.
