I should have blogged about this album that was generously given to me long ago but honestly, I have no idea how to review music…I listen to music I like and I like music for it’s particular style and/or the way it makes me feel and the depth of the lyrics and that’s really all [...] Related posts:

Thank You from Brian McLaren:re-posted from the Emergent/C email newsletter Brian has a pastoral way with words that is so beautiful. I imagine he makes a great spiritual adviser/counselor (wanna be mine Brian? I’ll pay you in chocolate chip cookies and lemon bars). This is a lovely little note he sent out in the Emergent newsletter [...] Related posts:

Doug Pagitt mentioned something on his radio show (blogtalkradio.com/dougpagitt, 9am MST) recently that has stuck with me. The gist of what I got from it was that the “middle” needs to be a “radical middle”. In politics, religion, social issues, etc. the middle needs to be a prophetic voice able to speak to both “sides”. [...] Related posts:

Edited to add: Mike L. has a good post here that approaches the topic from a civil/political viewpoint and articulates some points quite well, IMO. As a followup to Adam’s post, First, I like what Michael Toy said: another companion cry might be “stop blaming the bible for our own fear and intolerance” Second - I don’t think [...] Related posts:

The Bible & Homosexuality: Enough with the Bible Already — pomomusings …If it is truly the Bible that is causing some to hold these discriminatory beliefs, then perhaps we need to set the Bible aside for awhile. Perhaps we need to not construct a belief system about LGBT folk built on the foundation of a couple [...] Related posts:

I haven’t been in an Evangelical church for a couple years now but a couple months ago I went to a Bible Study hosted by a dear friend (at her request). It was truly a surreal experience. I was an outsider. I understood the words and knew the Scriptures and cognitively “got” what was going [...] Related posts:

Written in England a few weeks ago: I’ve been reading Nadia Boltz-Weber’s book “Salvation on the Small Screen?” whilst on my vacation in England.  For those who haven’t heard about this book, Nadia watched 24 hours of TBN and then wrote a book about her experience.  It’s a great read, I highly recommend it for anyone [...] Related posts:
