God is weird

I have a magazine deadline (I do layout and design for a lit mag.) this week so I’m a bit preoccupied. I thought I’d do another redux. This was one of my first blog posts ever - in June of 2003 when I had my very first blog over at blogger.

God is weird. That is my conclusion, after knowing him for 20+ years, the most profound thing I’ve discovered is that God is weird. “Sacrilege!”you say? Nah, think about it, the dictionary definition of weird is “mysteriously strange or fantastic. WEIRD may imply an unearthly or supernatural strangeness.” Sounds like God to me. Every time I think God is doing one thing, he’s actually doing something else. Why is he so confusing? Or is it me? I think it’s me. I think that in my desire to control a situation or at least be IN CONTROL OF a situation, I have this need to figure God out. Instead of letting him do his thing, follow his lead, walk through open doors and run away from closed ones. Well, I guess that means God and I make a good team, we’re both weird, each in our own “special” way. LOL.Oh, and on a different note, I figured out what to call the little bit of time we throw at God to “do our duty” as christians - Spiritual FARTS….Well, I’m either being really ireverent today or really profound, I guess it depends on how seriously a person takes him/herself.

….I still think that’s profound hehe
