wobbly faith?

Ridiculous claims like these are why so many run for the hills at the very whiff of conservative evangelicalism or similar versions of “christianity”. Many people find comfort in such reassurances in an age of economic free fall, global climate change, and other chaotic happenings - others, like me, know the claims are hooey and not remotely consistent with real life.

After Todd Friel takes you on a tour of the Bible, your faith in Scripture will never wobble again.

Once you understand God’s providential will, you’ll never be in the dark again.

These phrases were taken from book promotions on Todd Friel’s radio website (which I was only looking at because Tony Jones is going to be on his show today debating views about original sin)

personally, I like my wobbly faith, imperfect and not solid at all. It makes me depend on the strength and grace of God. Before, when I was so sure, I wasn’t trusting in God but in my own sureness.

yep, me too cynthia. and the reality is…if people were honest, most would say they have wobbly faith and no book is going to change that.

not sure i will ever not have wobbly faith, and that’s fine by me. there’s a certain joy and wonder in not having everything figured out. and, it makes me rely on my faith even more. isn’t that what faith is all about…?
