very distracted

I’ve been very distracted with real life lately.

My very good friend who is in her 30s and has 4 young girls was diagnosed with stage 4 metastasized breast cancer and is undergoing her first round of chemo tomorrow. Setting up a support site for her and helping to organize her support network has consumed a lot of my energy.

Shayel is in the last 2 weeks of school before summer break which means there are lots of extra things going on.

Revolution is undergoing an evolution with lots of people moving soon and we’re making lots of new connections that could result in all kinds of possibilities. Some of our other community relationships are changing for the summer so those things are taking up lots of time.

I have to testify against my abusive neighbor in a couple weeks which is taking up some of my thought process energy.

So that’s what’s up. Hope you all are well and thanks for sticking around if you’re reading this :)

I’ve been distracted lately, too, so much that I haven’t been able to keep up with my usual blogs (like yours) and to know that you weren’t blogging! yikes! “Real life” comes first, the blogsphere comes somewhere later. No need to apologize for that! But my prayers are with you as you go through these difficult things…

i understand distracted…even though my first year of seminary has ended, things are full throttle at the church i’m interning/pasting at. good stuff, but aren’t summers suppose to be a time for break for us students??? I mean, thats what I thought I was getting when I signed the dotted lines!

Anyway, hopefully a calmer ’season’ is on the horizon!

May you know the love of God the Father, the love of the Lord Jesus and fellowship of the Holy Spirit during this “real life” time. As a cancer survivor I am praying for your friend, your friend’s family and other care givers such as yourself. With the focus on the patient caregivers are often overlooked as needing support and strength as well. My prayer is for this strength and courage to endure through this difficult time…..and for healing for your friend.

This may not be understandable now, but cancer is a spiritually transforming experience. If it were possible for me to go back in time and avoid my cancer I would not choose to do so and mine was life threatening…..I should not be alive today. Look for Father’s presence in this experience. He shows up in some of the most interesting and unexpected places in this experience.
