updates and such

yeah, this blog is lame right now. But I have updates so that should be exciting ;)

Thanks to a new friend, I’m going to learn to knit - something I’ve wanted to do for some time now. Why you ask? I have no idea, because it’s the cool thing to do right now I guess. hehe. I know how to crochet a little bit, thanks to my grandmother (memory eternal) but knitting always seemed more flexible and useful and I never had luck with books and such. So I’m going to start off with a book my new friend loaned me and see how far I can get in there…and then I’ll have her to actually show me stuff which is exciting.

We got to meet a few emergent cohort folks on Sat - quite fun.

I’m into week 3 of my running program and doing pretty well. I think I might sign up for a local 5k run/walk that is in August. By then I will be done with the couch to 5k running program so I should be able to run the whole thing. That will give me a good gauge of where I’m at in regard to the Bolder Boulder 10k

We’ve made some decisions about our own ministry and the direction we’re going…which involves a mission organization called CRM. It also involves raising support which I have hangups about so this whole process is generating some unwanted feelings in me.

I have a couple friends who are struggling - and that makes me sad.

and finally - I’m feeling ambivalent about life in general and my faith in particular and my anxiety is still affecting me. I think I need to follow up with my doc but I loathe to go on stronger meds than what we’ve tried so far…blah. Prayers appreciated.

Oh I want to learn to knit too! I have been trying for many years now. A few offers from friends but I guess I just need to corner one of then with a set of needles and insist on it:)

I’m sorry you are still having anxiety woes:( You will be in my prayers. And if it makes you feel any better, dh and I have a trip in the works for this winter to FINALLY get back out to CO. If we can get a chance to meet up that should give you something to look forward too :)) LOL ;)

Oh and btw have I told you yet what an ordeal your spam protection is when my brain is still warming up! ;)

knitting rocks - debs has really got back into it this yr, even going to a knitting club with some friends :) So far 2 pairs of socks (one for her and a matching pair for nathan at his request) a scarf and a shrug. Debs crochets too, altogether v handy :)

the whole anxiety, faith, meds thang sucks at times, i know where you’re coming from, Debs has just increased her dose, which is good/bad - we’re kinda doing the whole prayer, meds, hanging on in there together, facing the stress of just ordinary life, rather than running away, which is the tempting option :)

    Yo girl …

You know you’re in my prayers re the anxiety issues. Don’t be too hard on yourself.

Also … I tagged you, if you feel up to finding 8 fun/funky things about yourself that you want to share ;)

Thanks for the update Mak. I believe in you & David. And I believe in the God who’s in you. I’m praying for clarity and resolution for the anxiety / depression. The skilled counseling of a solid Christ-loving therapist helped me… a LOT. (And also taught me to cuss rather well… but that’s a different story.)

Your passion to seek and gain ground is a joy to witness. Wish Aleta and I were in CO to grab dinner with you guys. Guess it’ll have to wait!

    Much love in Christ.

Thinking and praying for you. If you want to vent, chat, whatever about support raising to someone who has done it for nearly 15 years, feel free. I am a sympathetic ear.

    Peace,
    Jamie

Prayers- it is tough struggling- and I understand your reluctance to take stronger meds- but they may help- so prayers for wisdom.

Mak, thanks for the honesty, but one little rebuke for you . . .

I don’t think you should slam your own blog as “lame”. Sometimes the post you put the least into may end up making someone else’s day. I really enjoy your blog and even when it seems you’re having a rough go, I’m happy to read on with you. I’m sure most readers feel the same.

If someone else wants to call your blog lame, they can, but you are the creator, the one who breathes life into it.

You’re still on my addiction blog list and I think you’re doing just fine. Often the contents of our lives change and it’s very, very hard to translate that into new content for our blogs. Hang in there!
