not pretty enough

Christmas is gone from our house. Yesterday we took it all down and now we just have to remove the tree from our balcony and take it to the recycle place.

Shayel was very disturbed by the whole thing. She seemed to think that we would have Christmas forever.

She ended up getting over it but it took a good 15 minutes of talking through it. Oh the joy of having a sensitive dramatic child.

Anyway, part of helping her work through her sadness was me telling her that we could do other things to make the house pretty.

Today she says to me “my ponies are pretty (my little ponies), my glass slippers are pretty (dress up shoes), my dress is pretty (dress up princess dress) but the house…is NOT pretty. We need to decorate it to make it pretty like Christmas”
