So is this the next big thing? Is “deep church” a new subset of emerging? Is it the new Emergent Village? What do these new “movements” or new “language” mean for the existing conversations? Were you aware of “deep church”? What does it mean to you? Related posts:

What you are describing is church as an organic creature, going through the life, death, rebirth process. By trying to artificially keep it alive through programs and whatnot, we have a truly man-made construction: a soulless machine. This was a comment on naked pastor’s blog made by jovial_cynic and I haven’t been able to stop thinking [...] Related posts:

Naked Pastor threw out some good thoughts today and in response to the expectation of “guaranteed permanence and growth”  in a church, jovial_cynic had this to say. This is so poetic and beautiful in its simplicity. What you are describing is church as an organic creature, going through the life, death, rebirth process. By trying to artificially [...] Related posts:

…as I often do…read this by Andrew Hamilton, I couldn’t have said it better if I had all the time in the world. We have now been in the same place for nearly 4 years and are yet to see one person sign up to follow Jesus. This was not at all what I hoped for [...] Related posts:

Just because I think things need to change, doesn’t mean they were all bad before. But in the same token, just because God allowed something and gave it the freedom to flourish for a season doesn’t mean it’s a carte blanche endorsement for all time. And just because I “stand on the shoulders of giants” [...] Related posts:

I have always really liked water. I swam competitively most of my childhood and teen years and I still enjoy swimming. I also find that I am the most “in my element”, relaxed and uninhibited while in the water. This means a night rarely goes by without a tub soak before bed (often with a [...] Related posts:

Thanks to the naked pastor for laying it bare and beating the crap out of it. I’ve created and tried to sustain vision in the past, as well as press its importance on the church. And I’ve seen those visions crush people and myself, especially when the vision is destroyed and proven empty. Friends say, “Well, [...] Related posts:
